Cameron Stewart Grant

Cameron Stewart Grant is a Scottish singer, songwriter and producer whose musical journey began in rural Aberdeenshire, learning guitar at the age of seven after being inspired by his older brother’s Red Hot Chili Peppers riffs. From his first band with childhood friends to creating DIY badges and performing at local caravan parks, Cameron’s early years were steeped in creativity and community-driven performance. His passion deepened as he joined the North East Folk Collective in his teens, gaining invaluable experience performing across Scotland and beyond, including a slot at the Royal Albert Hall.

At 16, Cameron left school to pursue music full-time, studying at Plockton Music School and later completing a BA in Applied Music on the Isle of Benbecula. During this time, he launched a local folk club, toured internationally with various projects, and began developing his artistry as a collaborator, performer and promoter. He immersed himself in Scotland’s traditional music scene while also falling in love with reggae and soundsystem culture — influences that continue to shape his eclectic sound today.

After relocating to Glasgow, Cameron carved out a reputation in the city’s thriving trad and grassroots music scene, co-founding the now-legendary Stravaigin jam sessions and performing widely across ceilidhs, sessions and festivals. He also developed a parallel creative practice producing films, posters, and artwork for fellow musicians, while continuing to explore new genres and disciplines — from DJing to audio production. His deepening connection to electronic and dance music led to an passionate study of production and composition during the pandemic, culminating in the creation of a rural DIY recording studio.

It was during this period that a long-buried desire to sing began to surface. In late 2023, after years of quietly writing and recording, Cameron stepped onto the stage for his first solo vocal performance — a transformative moment that sparked the next chapter of his musical identity. From there, things accelerated quickly. He formed a band, supported acclaimed acts like Swiss Portrait and Conchur White and caught the attention of Scottish promoters including PCL and 432 Presents.

In May 2024, Cameron entered Gloworm Studios to record three songs that now form his debut EP Beginnings — a deeply personal body of work that blends heartfelt lyricism, soulful vocals and groove-driven production. The lead single Dilate received high praise from BBC Radio Scotland who described the track as “stunning… beautiful guitar playing, effortless vocals.” Self-mixed and produced from his home studio, Dilate marks a significant creative milestone for the artist.

With his debut tour scheduled for Spring 2025 — including shows across Scotland and a support slot for Island Records signee Terra Kin — Cameron Stewart Grant is an artist in full bloom. Drawing from a diverse palette of musical influences and lived experience, his work resonates with emotional depth, sonic richness and an unwavering DIY spirit. A captivating new voice in Scottish music, Cameron’s future promises to be just as bold and soulful as his journey so far.
